Screamadelica – Primal Scream

I think I was just young enough, barely, to claim to have been there, well sort of. Although listening to this now I think that I may have been there, but I certainly wasn’t paying attention. Tracks like Slip Inside This House and Don’t Fight It, Feel It sound much more housey (or Hoosy, if you are north of the river Wear) than I remember, I think as this was one of the first albums I had on CD, these tracks may have become the victims of the skip button. I have actually just played Loaded three times in a row, what a great track, good memories.
Micro review; Bliss was it in that dawn to be listening to Primal Scream, But to be young was very heaven.
Hidden gem; Damaged, I know it is a Stones rip, but it is great.
Micro review 2; I know, it’s only early 90s neo-psychedelia, but I like it, like it, yes I do.

  1. I was most definitely old enough to have been affected/infected by Screamadelica and love it to this day. I was also lucky enough to see them live on the Screamadelica tour, the original one, which was fantastic. The new record ain’t all that bad, either!

  2. That thing where you paraphrase It’s Only Rock n Roll you have done many times now. Perhaps a new cliché could be used instead?
