Beneath the Southern Cross – Patti Smith

Anyone who doesn’t think Auntie Patti is still an important artist, please leave the room now. For me there are very few artists (The Wire, Hugh Cornwell, Magazine, Tom Verlaine) that came out of the US/UK New Wave that are still writing relevant stuff and making great albums. This is such a great track, I have been playing it all day, on CD and in my head. This was her first album for 8 years, but you wouldn’t have guessed it.
Micro review: Not to be confused with the Aussie cricket song.
