Average White Band – Average White Band

Is there funk in Scotland? To right there is laddie, and this is it from the fourth best band in Dundee. This is quite a guilty pleasure for an old punk rock-new waver-goth-electronica, krautrock loving, jazz fan (I told you my tastes are eclectic). It’s a great album, and I defy anyone not to do the middle age head nod to at least one of these tracks (this involuntary movement was identified by my wife a few years ago, and I am patient zero, apparently)
Picking up the pieces has got to be the funkiest record ever to emerge from Dundee and still sounds amazing played very loud.
Hidden gem; Keepin’ It to Myself
Micro review; A Steely Dan from the highlands.
